Big Hotel Discounts on Emergency Lodging & More

Wednesday, May 4th, 2011

Emergency response crews are all over the states hit hardest by last week’s horrific tornadoes and flooding, and CLC Lodging – the same company that gets small businesses hotel discounts of 20-40% – helps ensure they have hotel rooms.

In the last week alone, CLC Lodging put first responders from relief groups, power companies and tree removal services in more than 2,000 hotel rooms in Texas, New York, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Virginia, North Carolina, Arkansas, Alabama and Missouri.

These businesses are among the clients that recognize the efficiency and savings realized when CLC handles their lodging administration. CLC Lodging’s nationwide network of more than 10,000 hotels means that hotel rooms can be arranged very quickly to restore essential services when disasters strike.

In fact, CLC Lodging has been the official provider of emergency lodging services for the U.S. Government since 2005.

Plus, businesses using CLC Lodging gain the advantage of the deeply discounted rates already in place at hotels where CLC Lodging has pre-negotiated contracts. The low rates that CLC Loding provides result from its consolidated purchasing power of more than 9 million room nights a year worth nearly half a billion dollars.

Small businesses can access those same low rates by signing up for CheckINN Direct. Their employees who travel are provided with CLC Lodging’s CheckINN Card.

Travelers simply show the card at the front desk at check-in and save 20-40% off the hotel’s lowest published rate. Small businesses also have the assurance of CheckINN Direct’s Lowest Rate Guarantee.

FEMA has agreement with CLC Lodging to provide emergency lodging to those displaced from their homes after national or natural disasters

CLC Lodging, the lodging management provider that offers CheckINN Direct for small businesses, has received a new government contract to handle emergency lodging.  The U.S. Department of Homeland Security awarded CLC a Blanket Purchase Agreement to administer the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Transitional Sheltering Assistance program.

Emergency Lodging When Disasters Hit

Wednesday, June 16th, 2010

The same company that provides CheckINN Direct has been selected by the General Services Administration (GSA) as the U.S. Government’s provider of emergency lodging services and support for catastrophic disasters and national emergencies. Corporate Lodging Consultants (CLC) was awarded the GSA Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) that takes effect Sept. 7, 2010. CLC currently holds the BPA originally awarded in 2005.

CLC’s emergency lodging services work goes back more than a dozen years, but CLC has held the GSA BPA  since 2005. That was the year CLC put its lodging, billing and payment services to work for responders and evacuees after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, when the company provided lodging services for more than 700,000 evacuees alone.

CLC’s successful history handling government emergency lodging needs has continued through Hurricanes Gustav and Ike to the Greensburg, Kans., F5 tornado and numerous wildfires, floods and ice storms throughout the country.

The company also manages housing payment and expense reimbursement for disaster evacuees through its Emergency Lodging Assistance, Disaster Housing Assistance and Direct Lodging Reimbursement programs

Beyond emergency lodging services, CLC provides thousands of business clients with a suite of workforce travel solutions, including customized solutions for larger companies and its CheckINN Direct lodging savings card for smaller and independent companies.

With all the flooding and tornadoes this month – not to mention the oil spill in the Gulf – the same company behind CheckINN Direct has contracted hotel rooms for more than 2,000 emergency responders supporting disaster areas across the U.S. so far in May.

Corporate Lodging Consultants’ emergency services clients include the American Red Cross, the U.S. Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), environmental restoration firms and regional utility companies.

CLC handled lodging arrangements for agency workers and crews sent for flooding relief in Tennessee and Kentucky, tornado assistance in Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi and Oklahoma; earthquake response in California and environmental clean-up in Alabama.

CLC provides the business lodging savings card offered through CheckINN Direct as well as workforce travel solutions that get large companies significant lodging discounts, direct billing and detailed reporting services for their workforce travel.  CLC has been around for more than 30 years, with its clients purchasing more than 9 million room nights annually across CLC’s proprietary network of thousands of hotels.
